Loving Podcasts
December 13th, 2008, Posted in PodcastsI am obsessed with podcasts; I absolutely love listening to non-fiction audio. Audio books are great, but there is no denying the take a certain level of commitment in both time and attention. Podcasts are great for a tight one hour show that I can listen to while I am working on something else. And boy do I take advantage.
I started off with mostly geek podcasts. Then every time I picked up a new interest I would search for related podcasts. I was planning a trip to Vegas and found a few really good Vegas podcasts. I have been exploring the Law of Attraction and conveniently enough, there are podcasts on that subject as well.
What may surprise you is I don’t even own an iPod. I listen to my podcasts on my phone (LG Fusic). I have a set of Jabba bluetooth ear pieces that I can wear as two in stereo or just one for mono. I load the podcasts on to the expandable SD card and keep it synced with iTunes using a 3rd party program called iTunes Sync. Then with the phone in my pocket and the audio wireless in one ear I am set to be productive.
It amazes me that the iPhone doesn’t support A2DP. This is the key to listening to stereo audio through bluetooth. In fact I would love an iPhone and all the ITunes integration that goes along with it, but I wouldn’t want to give up my wireless earpiece. Maybe one of you readers will have a solution that fits the bill.
